Note To friend

WUT UP

So i am reading this kinda weird book in 4th hour which is English 10. it is called The Crucible and its about along time time ago with people called the puritans. The puritans were really religious and believed in god. To be a Puritan u had to be a full time member of the church. O and the church and the goverment were run together. So anyway the women and the kids were treated as they were nothing and the men had power. For example women weren’t allowed to talk in church and kids were used as little slaves.

So in the book there are these 6 girls that were dancing and singin around a fire and they were singin some kinda tibal songs with Parris’ slave Tituba.and some girl was running around naked. Haha I dunno y. And now Parris’ daughter and another girl are out of it and won’t eat. Betty which is Parris’ daughter, she got up for a minute and all of a sudden jus took off and ran in the wall. Lol. So pretty much everyone in this town gathered to see this girl kuz she was sick and people were accusing her of being in touch with the devil or something. There is also the two guys Procter and Putnam and they are fighting over land and wood. Then this reverend hale guy comes (which I was when we acted it out) to the town and is supposed to be a witchcraft master or can cure anyone.

So the puritan people are crazy the reason they accuse people of being witches is if they don’t like them or they have a mole on there face. Witch is retarded I think but guess what they do to the people that are being accused. They tie them to a chair and throw them into a lake or a river to see if they float they are a witch and if they sink they aren’t one but if they sink they jus let them dround. Another thing is they put them in between two boards and pile boulders on top of them and squish them to death until they confess. Isn’t that crazy tho.

Wut I think is goin to happen in the play eventually is that the girls are goin to all die because they all are kinda acting weird especially Abigail and Tituba. Nut I dunno kuz this book is kinda odd so it could turn out to be different.

I think u would not like this book at all because it doesn’t intrest me in anyway and I no ur not into witchcraft or old history type of things. So I would recommend this book for u too read.

character's dreams

Walter: Walter’s dream is to own a liquor store and make his son have a better childhood then he had.
Page 33 “you see this liquor store we got on our minds cost seventy five thousand dollars…”
I don’t think Walter will get his dream to come true because seventy five thousand dollars is a lot of money.
Mama: Her dream is to own a nice house where everyone can have there own room and space.
Page 44 “been thinking that…two-story somewhere…”
Yes I think mama will eventually get her own house that is just for her family.
Bennie: Her dream is to become a doctor.
Page 36 “biology is the greatest…”
Yes I think Bennie will finish college and become a doctor because she has the push and drive to do it.
Ruth: I think Ruth’s dream is to move out of the home they are in and live on there own in a house.
Page 44 “Lord knows us… four houses by now…”
I don’t know if Ruth will get her dream to live in a house with jus Walter and Travis but she might get to live in a house with the whole family.
Joseph: I think his dream is for Bennie to make a decision to be with him or not.
Page 61 “how long does it to take for one to know what one feels…”
I think Joseph will eventually get his dream when Bennie is done with going to college.

Reflection on Conscience

Huck is saying that no matter what he tries to do either with helping Jim escape, helping the con men, or stealing from an abandon house his conscious always makes him decide what to do. For example when Huck has to decide to either save Huck from being a slave again or just let him be a slave and not get into any trouble, his conscious made him go and save Jim.

Three examples of Huck’s conscience persuading his decisions were:
1. When he and Jim were “borrowing” food from that one farm his conscience told him that Huck would never back down and to keep on going.
2. When the king stole Jim and sold him for $40 his conscience told him to go save him because he was his friend.
3. When he finds out about the town catching on to the king and duke’s con his conscience tells him to go tell them because they were nice to him.

There is this one time I remember that I could of went out to a party and have fun with friends but I thought about it and I had no way home or no were to stay so I just called up some of my other friends and went and chilled with them. The next day I found out that the cops showed up and the party got broken up so I was glad I made the right decision.

The Basement.

THE BASEMENT.
The basement of my house is were i go to be away from my family if i need some time to myself and in the quite. it has everything i need to pretty much survive besides food and something to drink. There is a big screen TV, PlayStation, Wii, a work out gym, and a quarterback pass attack arcade game.
When i am frustrated or mad i walk down the long white stairs and when i finally reach the bottom of the stairs i step on to the freezing cold blue tiles that feel like I'm walking on the white snow outside. I hurry up and jump off the tile on to the carpet and go over to the 55" big screen TV and turn the cable and the TV on. if there is nothing on TV then i will turn on the PlayStation 2 and put in NCAA 09 and continue on with my season I started.
When i am watching TV or playing a video game i keep the lights off to make temper go down and relax, and most of the time when I'm watching TV i fall asleep.
Most of the time when i am down there my little brother that is 11 will come down stairs and want to play or watch TV with me. While I'm laying down on the futon my brother is sitting in the chair and we mostly watch ESPN or a movie.
I enjoy my basement a lot i think it is a god place to chill and relax with either myself, friends, or my whole family. There is only three more things i would want down in my basement. those things are, a refrigerator, a bathroom, and the computer. If those three things were down in the basement i would probably never come upstairs unless i needed something.
I have always liked the basement. when i was little me and my brother would go down there and pay football, basketball, hockey with mini sticks, and any other sport we felt like playing.
That is my basement that i enjoy so much.

Huck Finn Response

Intro paragraph: In Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Huck, the protagonist, Huck, is greatly influenced by four people: Widow Douglas, Tom Sawyer, Pap, and Jim.

Body paragraph 1: WIDOW DOUGLAS: Widow Douglas affects Huck by giving him a sense of religion, education and a sense of wrong and right. Huck still thinks back to when he has to make a decision he goes over what is the right thing and how will it affect him and Jim. For example on page 2 “after supper she got out the bible and would teach Huck about Moses and Bulrushers.”

Body Paragraph 2: TOM SAWYER: Tom Sawyer affects Huck by giving him a sense of not quitting or giving up on adventurous and dangerous events. When he is with Jim, and Huck finds the snake on page 39 and decided to put it in Jim’s bed he thought to himself and said would Tom would do this.

Body Paragraph 3: PAP: Pap affects Huck by him by didn’t go to school, church, and is an alcoholic. Pap also told Huck said that it is alright to steal if you’re stealing for other people. Huck thought back to when he was little and Pap told him on page 49 “wasn’t harm to barrow things if you was meaning to pay them back, sometime.”

Body Paragraph 4: JIM: Jim affects Huck by giving him a sense of responsibility and made Huck act older. In chapter 11 Huck dresses up like a girl and goes into town and sees what the news about his death is and finds out that some guys are going to hunt down Jim and goes back and tells Jim.

Conclusion Paragraph: Without these key influences in his life, Huck would be a very different person.
